Bottleneck Group: Engagement and Participation Hurdles

  • BOTTL_03 - Poor involvement of experts
    • REC_03.4.01 - To form a group of experts within the project before or immediately during the proposal phase
    • REC_03.4.02 - Get in contact with the relevant technical committees or working groups at an early stage of the proposal
    • REC_03.4.03 - Discuss the details and get assistance in identifying the right technical committee/working group
    • REC_03.4.04 - Consider liaison possibilities and address this problem during the project conception, as this process may take time to be approved
  • BOTTL_04 - Lack of time
    • REC_04.2.01 - Be realistic about the possible timeframe for contributions
    • REC_04.2.02 - Consider alternative deliverables that can be produced faster than a common standard, such as. CWA or technical reports
  • BOTTL_08 - Limited engagement of research projects
    • REC_08.2.01 - Implement awareness and training in research projects to improve the contribution and adoption of research partners
    • REC_08.2.02 - Integrate standardisation goals into the project planning phase and allocate specific resources (time and budget) for standardisation activities to ensure that standardisation is considered a key outcome from the outset
