BOTTL_05 - Poor adoption and practicality of standards

The adoption of standards faces several challenges: (1) raising awareness among project partners, especially those not involved in standardisation, about the importance of standards and what standardisation activities entail; (2) adopting standards across the value chain in different domains, particularly in circular economy and smart manufacturing; (3) dealing with the complexity and practical difficulties of applying standards, which are often not practical enough for companies, especially SMEs; and (4) overcoming language barriers in adopting standards; (5) low level of trust that regulated industries have in new technologies.
